Döner Catering in Berlin: Fresh Off the Grill at Your Event
- 2 days ago
- 5 min read
Most event food arrives already cooked, already cooling, already a compromise. Trays get wheeled in, lids come off, and everyone politely queues for something that peaked forty minutes ago in a van. Döner catering works the other way around. The skewer turns in the room, the meat is carved when the plate is in front of you, and the food is at its best at the exact moment someone eats it.
That is what we bring to events across Berlin. We prepare our skewers in house, transport them to your venue, put them on the grill on site and carve every portion fresh in front of your guests. Same meat, same bread, same homemade sauces as our restaurants in Mitte and Kreuzberg, just standing in your space instead of ours.

What Döner Catering Actually Means
Döner catering means the kebap is made at your event rather than delivered to it. In our case the process starts days earlier, when we stack the skewers by hand from local free range meat, exactly as we do for the restaurants. On the day, those skewers travel to your venue, go onto the grill and turn there while your guests arrive. Nothing is carved until somebody orders it.
The practical difference is enormous. Meat that has been sitting in a warming tray dries out and flattens. Meat carved straight off a turning skewer is still crisp at the edges and juicy underneath, and the bread is warm, and the vegetables are cold and sharp against it. It also turns catering into something people watch rather than queue at, which changes the atmosphere of a room more than most hosts expect.
It works for a private birthday of twenty and for a trade fair stand feeding hundreds, because the setup scales without the food changing. That is the part conventional buffet catering struggles with.

Four Ways We Can Set Up
The setup follows the event, not the other way around. These are the four shapes it usually takes, and they can be combined.
Events We Cater
Over the years the answer to what kind of event this suits has become simply "most of them". A short list of what we have actually catered:
The corporate side has turned into a lot of repeat business, which we take as the real review. Companies that book catering monthly do not come back out of politeness, they come back because the room actually looks forward to it. Film and production crews are similar, since shoot days are long and food that is genuinely good at hour eleven counts for a lot.
What Goes on the Menu
Everything we serve in the restaurants is available for catering, and the menu is built per event rather than picked from a fixed list. That includes the full kebap range, our mezze, sides, salads, desserts like the baklava and the burnt cheesecake, and drinks if you want us to handle those too.
In practice most clients land somewhere between two extremes. Some want the classics done properly, so we bring the Klassik and the Tschick and a strong vegan option and keep it simple. Others want the full spread, mezze on arrival, a carving station through the evening, dessert later. Both work. The menu is a conversation, not a form, and your budget per person shapes it as much as your taste does.
Vegan, Vegetarian and Halal
This is where a lot of event catering quietly fails. A single sad vegetarian plate arrives at the end, and the people who need it feel like an afterthought. We build the alternatives with the same attention as the meat, because at most Berlin events now they are not the minority order.
Our vegan setup runs on planted., falafel and fried cauliflower rather than a token substitute, and the vegan mezze stand on their own next to everything else. Halal meat can be arranged when you tell us at booking, and gluten free and allergen requirements are handled the same way. Tell us the numbers and the needs in the event sheet and it gets built in from the start.
How a Booking Works
Notice period is genuinely flexible. We have built events months in advance and we have put setups together at short notice, so if your date feels tight it is still worth asking. Berlin is our home ground and we cover the whole city, with locations outside Berlin possible depending on the event.
Why Book Us
Berlin has no shortage of caterers, and plenty of them can put döner on a table. What we are actually offering is a contemporary kebap experience, built to the same standard we hold in our restaurants, delivered in your space.
The ingredients do not change because it is an event. Meat stacked by hand from local free range sources. Bread delivered fresh every morning from a bakery in Neukölln. Sauces made in house from natural ingredients. Vegetables cut fresh, not the day before.
And the format bends completely to you. No package numbers, no minimum guest count, no menu you have to choose from as printed. Food truck, mobile kitchen, DIY station, buffet or served, meat heavy or fully vegan, twenty guests or several hundred. If you can describe what you are planning, we can usually build it, and the more unusual the request the more interested we tend to be.

Catering FAQ
Is there a minimum number of guests?
No. We cater small private gatherings and large events alike, and the setup is scaled to fit. The food truck option is the one exception, since it is designed for events from around 200 guests.
Do you cook on site or deliver the food ready made?
We cook on site. The skewers are prepared in our kitchen, brought to your venue, grilled there and carved fresh for each guest.
Which areas of Berlin do you cover?
All of Berlin. Locations outside the city are possible too, depending on the type and size of the event, so it is worth asking.
How far in advance do I need to book?
There is no fixed cut off. We handle bookings made months ahead and we have put events together at short notice, so ask even if your date is close.
Do you bring staff and equipment?
Yes. Our own kitchen and service team run the event, and we bring the equipment needed for the setup we agree on.
Can you cater a fully vegan event?
Yes. We offer vegan kebaps and vegan mezze built with planted., falafel and cauliflower, and a completely plant based menu is no problem.
Is the meat halal?
Halal meat can be arranged. Let us know when you enquire and we will factor it into the planning.
What does döner catering cost?
It depends on guest numbers, setup and menu, so we quote per event. The event sheet asks for your budget per person, which lets us build something that fits rather than sending a generic price list.
