How to Order Catering in Berlin Without the Stress

6 min read

Ordering catering in Berlin comes down to five decisions: how many people, which format, which dietary needs, delivery or pickup, and how far ahead you book. Get those right and the food takes care of itself. At Kebap with Attitude you can order döner kebaps, mezze and salads straight from our online catering shop, at least four days in advance, for delivery across much of Berlin or for pickup at our restaurant on Gipsstraße 2 in Mitte.

Before You Order: Five Questions

Most catering that goes wrong goes wrong before anyone has cooked a thing. Somebody guessed the headcount, nobody asked who's vegan, the food arrived an hour before the meeting ended. None of that has much to do with the kitchen.

So before you open any shop, answer five questions. How many people are you feeding, and is that a firm number or a hopeful one? Is this a working lunch, a party or a full meal? Who's eating vegetarian, vegan or around an allergy? Do you have someone who can collect the food, or does it need to come to you? And when exactly does it need to be there, to the quarter hour?

Write the answers down. They'll make every step after this quicker, and they're exactly what a good caterer would ask you anyway.

How Far Ahead Should You Book?

Earlier than you think, almost always. For our online catering shop, the minimum is four days before your delivery or pickup date. That gives us time to plan the kitchen, order fresh produce and stack the right amount on the spit.

Four days is the floor, not the ideal. For a regular office lunch, a week is comfortable. For a birthday or a team party, two weeks gives you room to change your mind. And around Christmas, when every company in Berlin seems to celebrate in the same three weeks, earlier is simply safer.

How Much Food Do You Need?

This is the question everyone asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on what the food is for.

For a working lunch, where the catering is the meal, plan on one main per person. A kebap in Pide or as a Wrap is a full lunch on its own. Our Trays are bigger, with an extra portion of everything and a side like rice, potatoes, fries or bread, so they suit hungrier groups or longer days.

For a party or reception, where people graze over a few hours, think in shared plates rather than portions. Mezze like Hummus, Mama Ganoush, Mini Falafel and Zucchini Feta Fritters go in the middle, kebaps cut the edge off real hunger, and salads balance the table.

A few rules of thumb help either way. Round up rather than down, because nobody remembers the leftovers but everyone remembers running out. Order a little more variety than feels necessary, because people like to choose. And if you really aren't sure, send us a note at checkout and we'll help you get it right.

Choosing the Right Format

The format matters as much as the menu, because it decides how people will actually eat.

Kebap Pide is the original Berlin döner in our crispy flatbread. Familiar, generous and easy to hand out.

Kebap Wraps are rolled in thin yufka bread. They're the tidiest option for people eating standing up or at their desks, which makes them a favourite for office catering.

Kebap Trays are the full meal: a bigger portion and a side, served on a tray. Best when people can sit down with a fork.

Mezze and salads are for sharing. Hummus and Mama Ganoush with bread, Turşu, Lentil Soup, Turkish Beef Empanadas, Mini Falafel, Zucchini Feta Fritters, Fries and Truffle Fries Delüks, plus our Beetroot Salad and Caesar's Secret. A table of these turns any order into something closer to a meal out.

Most good orders mix two or three of these. A few trays for the people who want a proper lunch, wraps for the people who want to keep working, mezze in the middle for everyone.

Three Orders That Work

If you'd like a starting point, here are three combinations that work well.

The office lunch. Wraps for most of the team, because they're easy to eat at a desk, a couple of Trays for the people who want a proper sit down meal, and a Hummus with bread in the middle. Add a Vallah Vegan Wrap or two so nobody has to ask.

The team party. Lots of mezze for the table, from Mama Ganoush and Turşu to Mini Falafel and Zucchini Feta Fritters, a round of Truffle Fries Delüks, then Pide for everyone once the first hunger sets in. Finish with Baklava or our San Sebastián Cheesecake.

The birthday at home. Trays as the main event, a Beetroot Salad and Caesar's Secret for freshness, and Turkish Beef Empanadas as the bite everyone fights over.

Vegetarian, Vegan and Allergies

Ask before you order, not after. A quick message to your group asking about dietary needs saves a lot of awkward moments when the boxes are opened.

Our catering makes this easy. Every kebap comes in a meat free version with falafel, halloumi or Planted, a plant based meat, and our Vallah Vegan is fully vegan as it comes. Much of our mezze menu is vegetarian, and vegetarian and vegan options are marked in the shop.

If someone in your group has an allergy or a specific requirement, add it as a note at checkout. We'll do our best to accommodate it, and if anything is unclear, our team will get in touch.

Delivery or Pickup?

Both work. The right one depends on your day.

Delivery brings the food to your office or venue. We currently deliver across a wide area of Berlin, within a radius of roughly 2 to 12 kilometres from our kitchen. Enter your address in the shop before browsing the menu, and it will confirm whether we reach you. A delivery fee and a minimum order apply, both shown in the shop.

Pickup means collecting your order from our restaurant at Gipsstraße 2, near Rosenthaler Platz. There's no pickup fee, and the minimum order is lower, which makes pickup a good choice for smaller groups or anyone already in Mitte.

Whichever you choose, pick a time that leaves a little room before people arrive. Fifteen minutes of buffer is the difference between a calm setup and a scramble.

How Ordering Works in Our Catering Shop

Ordering takes a few minutes. Open our online catering shop, choose delivery or pickup, and set your date and time. Then browse the menu, from mezze and salads to kebap trays, Pide, wraps and desserts, and add what you need. Extra toppings and sauces are there too, from extra halloumi to our Vegan Cacık.

At checkout, add any special instructions, like allergies or a particular way you'd like things labelled. You can pay by credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If your plans change, you can cancel within two days of placing your order. For anything else, our team is reachable at events@kebapyourlife.de.

Everything we send out is made the same way as in our restaurant. We call it Natural Attitude: local, free range meat, a hand stacked yaprak spit, bread delivered fresh every day from a bakery in Neukölln, homemade sauces and recyclable packaging.

When Your Event Needs More Than a Delivery

Some occasions need more than boxes on a table. If you're planning a larger event, a company party or something with a specific setup, our event team can put together a custom offer. You can host your event at our restaurant in Berlin Mitte, with space for up to 120 guests inside, on our front terrace and in our backyard garden, or we can bring the food to you.

The best place to start is our event booking page. Tell us the date, the number of guests and what you have in mind, and we'll take it from there.
