Spargel Döner Berlin: The Comeback of Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art

Updated: Apr 16

Spring in Berlin isn’t just a change in season but a shift in mood. It’s that time of year when people flood into parks, sit outside again, and obsess over one thing: Spargel. But while white asparagus is everywhere right now, there’s only one place in Berlin where it shows up in a kebap that makes sense. Enter: Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art.

Back by popular demand at Kebap with Attitude, this is our cult-favourite spring 2025 creation, and if you know, you know. If you don’t yet, here’s everything you need to know about the Spargel-Döner.

What Is the Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art?

Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art is a Berlin-born remix of Turkish-German street food with regional produce at its core. It’s a new-school döner kebap with old-school quality, crafted for real flavour heads, only at Kebap with Attitude.

Here’s how it breaks down. You start with your bread, either a fluffy Pide or a hand-rolled Yufka Dürüm. You can choose between grilled beef or our crispy vegan falafel. Then we add fresh Beelitz white asparagus (the star of the show) and layer it with silky homemade hollandaise, wild garlic mayo, crisp lamb’s lettuce, and just enough strawberry-ginger jam to make it worth it. This is seasonal Berlin or in your hands. It’s creamy. It’s crunchy. It’s rich, tangy, and unexpected, and it just works.

Nationwide Attention in 2024

When first introduced last spring, we considered the Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art a bold seasonal experiment, something creative to celebrate regional ingredients in a new context. Within the first week, people travelled from various parts of Germany, some specifically seeking out the Spargel Döner. The interest wasn’t just local. There were multiple PR campaigns from across the country, from journalists, culinary editors, and food culture platforms interested in understanding the concept behind a seasonal döner kebap built around Beelitz asparagus.

The media coverage arrived soon after. Berliner Zeitung highlighted the dish as a standout in the capital’s spring food scene. BILD conducted a full-tasting feature. Food critics, local influencers, and YouTube creators all stopped by to experience the kebap for themselves and to share their impressions with growing audiences.

Why This Isn’t Just a Seasonal Drop

Berlin’s got döner joints on every corner. You can get a decent one almost anywhere. But what makes the Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art different isn’t just that it has asparagus in it. It’s that it reflects what Kebap with Attitude is all about. This kebap is creative but grounded. It’s playful without being a joke. It uses ingredients that Berliners care about, Beelitz asparagus, homemade sauces, and fresh greens, and puts them together in a way that feels honest. This is how we do seasonal food. Just a real, hyped-up flavour made for real people who love döner kebabs.

It’s also a challenge, a challenge to anyone who still thinks kebap can’t be clever or high-quality or can’t play in the same space as bistro food or plated gastronomy.

Get Your Hands on the Spargel-Döner

The Döner Kebap Beelitzer Art is for the asparagus lovers and the Berliners who know that good kebabs don’t have to be serious to be seriously good. It’s for the people who believe that a kebap can be seasonal. That street food can evolve. That comfort food can still surprise you. Spargel season is short. You blink, and it’s over. Just like the asparagus we use, it’s fresh, limited, and completely tied to the moment.

Döner Beelitzer Art is available at both of our Berlin restaurants for dine-in and takeaway. You’ll find us in Berlin-Mitte at Gipsstraße 2, or in Berlin-Kreuzberg at Bergmannstraße 5. Don’t just take our word for it. Come try the Spargel-Döner Berlin couldn’t stop talking about last year. Taste why it’s back again, and why it might just become your new spring ritual.

One can book it for catering too. Whether it’s an office lunch, a rooftop event, or you want our food truck rolling into your spring party, we’ll bring the Beelitzer Art Döner Kebab to you.
