Christmas Party Catering in Berlin: How to Plan It
Somebody has been handed the Christmas party. Possibly you. It is the one work event a year where everyone turns up, everyone has an opinion afterwards, and the person who organised it finds out on Monday whether it landed.
Here is the practical version, without the sales pitch.

The Deadline Nobody Mentions
Every company in this city holds its party in the same three weeks. Venues and caterers fill their December calendars through October, and the good dates go first. Most companies start looking in late November and discover that the second week of December has been gone since September. If your date is in December and you have not started, start this week. A timeline that actually works:
Eight to ten weeks out. Lock the date and the venue together, not one after the other. Booking a venue first and then discovering it has no kitchen access is the single most common way this goes wrong.
Six weeks out. Confirm guest numbers and the format.
Four weeks out. Finalise the menu and the dietary counts. Later than that is still possible, and we have put December events together at genuinely short notice. You are just choosing from what is left rather than what you wanted.
What It Costs
This depends entirely on the size and scale of your event. Format matters, guest numbers matter, and how long you are feeding people matters more than either. A delivered spread for twenty people and a full evening for two hundred with a kitchen built on site are different problems with different answers.
We do not push fixed packages, because a package pushes your evening into a shape that might not suit it. Tell us what you are planning and what you have to work with, and we build to it. The event sheet asks for your budget so we can start from something real rather than guessing.
The Gönn Deer Kebap
Our Christmas special, and the one thing on this page that only exists in December. Homemade deer ragout, red cabbage, apple cranberry chutney and potato hash browns, built into a kebap. Every element of a classic German Christmas plate is in there. It just arrives in a form you can eat standing up, holding a drink, in the middle of a conversation.
That makes it unusually well suited to a party. The flavours are familiar enough that the traditionalists in your team are happy, and the format means nobody is pinned to a seat waiting for a plated course while the room goes quiet.
It works for company parties and private celebrations alike, and it is available through December only. If you want it at your event, say so when you enquire, because we plan the quantities around it.

Your Party Does Not Need a Sit Down Menu
Almost every caterer in Berlin will offer you the same December format. A plated four course menu, everyone seated at the same moment, three courses arriving on a schedule. It is perfectly good, and it is what your team has sat through at every work party they have ever attended.
The flavours are not the problem. As the Gönn Deer Kebap shows, we are happy to cook Christmas. The question is what the evening is shaped like. Food that people collect, build and carry gives them a reason to stand near each other. Mezze on the table to share. Something being carved in the room. A queue where colleagues from different teams end up talking.
That is a genuinely different evening from everyone facing forward at a long table, and for a group who spend all year at adjacent desks without really talking, it is usually the better one.
If your team specifically wants the formal seated version, plenty of caterers in this city do it well and you should book one of them
Picking a Format That Suits the Room
Guest numbers narrow this down fast.
Delivered platters work for smaller parties and office based evenings where you want good food without anyone setting anything up. Mezze, kebaps, salads, all ready to eat on arrival.
A mobile kitchen in your space means we build a kitchen wherever you are and cook on site. This is the one that changes the feel of an evening, because a carving station gives people somewhere to gather and a queue where colleagues from different teams end up talking.
The food truck suits large parties, from around two hundred guests upwards, especially where you have outdoor space or a courtyard.
Book one of our restaurants, if your party is small enough, taking over Mitte or Kreuzberg for the evening removes the venue problem entirely.
We go through all four formats in more detail in our guide to company event catering in Berlin.
The Dietary Question, Handled Properly
At a Christmas party everyone comes, which means the dietary spread is wider than at any other event you run all year. Everything on our menu has a real alternative rather than a token one. Vegan kebaps, vegan mezze, halloumi and falafel for vegetarians, and four sauces that are vegan rather than one. Give us the numbers in advance and we build them into the quantities. Nobody at your party should be able to tell whether they were the main plan or the accommodation.
How to Book Us
For smaller December orders and office parties, the catering shop is the fastest route. You can see what is available and order directly. For company parties and larger events, use the event sheet. It asks for date, guest count, budget per person and location. We come back with a proposal built around your evening rather than a template, and nothing is fixed until you are happy with it.
